Description | Mary Ann Rice, a 60 year old widow, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. She was born on 19 July 1783. Her parents were Bartholomew Bourgue and Mary Young. Her father, was a Huguenot from Bordeaux who had worked at the French Hospital for 37 years as a surgeon. He died in May 1797. Mary Ann's late husband, Thomas Rice, was an 'army accoutrement maker' who died in 1830, leaving the petitioner with their four children and no financial support.
