TitleRebecca Hutchinson's petition
Date24 Jun 1845
DescriptionRebecca Hutchinson, a 73 year old widow, requests to be admitted the the Hospital. She was born on 11 December 1772. Her parents were Elizabeth Frankis and Michel Breton. Her paternal grandfather, René Breton, was born in Turenne, but left France to avoid religious persecution. Rebecca used to have a comfortable lifestyle as her husband was a Master Taylor in Westminster, but after his death, her situation changed dramatically. She is now a recipient of the Coqueau Charity and works winding silk and cotton. However, due to age-related conditions, she can no longer continue to work. The petition bears Rebecca Hutchinson's mark and is signed by R S Maples.
