| Description | John Glover, a 65 year old widower, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. He was born on 21 September 1784. His parents were Edward Glover and Suzannah Elie. The latter's grandfather, John Elie, was originally from Jonsaque, in Saintonge, but fled to England to avoid religious persecution. John is employed by Samuel Ebbs, a stationer in Tower Hill. However, he suffers from age-related conditions so can no longer work. The petition is signed by John Glover himself and John De La Mare.
At the back, a note states that Susannah Elie, daughter of Jean Elie was baptised at the French Church on 14 January 1756 and was born on 23 December 1755. Furthermore, Susannah's grandfather, John Elie, died in the French Hospital.
