DescriptionAnn Haye, a 61 year old widow, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. She was born on 23 October 1786. Her parents were Hannah and Jean Jacob Lemaitre. The latter's father, James Lemaitre, was originally from Normandy but came to England to avoid religious persecution. He lived in Christ Church, Middlesex. Ann used to be a silkweaver and then became a orris weaver, like her husband. She now suffers from paralysis so can no longer work. The petition is signed by Ann Haye herself and Isaac Eude.
At the back, a note signed by J M Ferry, states that Ann Haye's father, James Jacob Lemaitre, had been the Clerk of the French Church in Church Street for many years.
