| Description | Mary Whiter, a 73 year old widow, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. She was born on 21 August 1779. Her parents were Elizabeth Parley and George Barber. The latter was related to three women who resided in the French Hospital: the petitioner's aunts Barber and Deal, as well as her cousin, Mary Paul. Mary used to be a weaver but had to stop working as she suffers from severe asthma and other age-related conditions. The petition bears Mary Whiter's mark and is signed by Timothy Gibson.
At the back, a note in a different hand states that the petitioner's aunt Barber is not in the French Hopsital register but Mary Esther Paul is (petition n. 1223).
