DescriptionJames Feecham, a 52 year old man, requests to be admitted to the Hospital. He was born on 6 January 1799. His parents were Samuel and Mary Feecham. James maternal great-grandfather, Samuel Bachellier, was a Huguenot from Normandy, who had to leave substantial property behind when fleeing to England. His daughter married a Mr Diverdine and both spouses received financial help from the Royal Bounty. Their son, Timothy Diverdine, was deaf and mute and received his parents' money from the Royal Bounty up to his death on 12 March 1813. The petitioner's aunt, Susan Hollett received sums from the Coqueau Charity and money from the French Church every Christmas and died in November 1847. James' mother, Mary Diverdine, died on 6 April 1829. James Feecham used to wind quills used in silk weaving but now is said to be suffering from an affliction caused by his deaf and mute uncle.
