Description | These papers (noted as found in Royal Bounty cupboard, Committee Room)appear to be the only surviving records of the original building operation. There are 18 receipts for payments on account from 11 July 1716 to 19 December 1718, a detailed statement of account totalling £2,750, settled 12 March 1718/9, and final receipt of the same date for a balance of £200. All receipts are signed by the contractor, Peter Legrant. |
