Description | This volume, nearly all fair-copied in clear handwriting, is a record of daily transactions, month by month, but the details recorded in the Steward's petty cash books are not given. On a fly-leaf facing the inside front cover there is a list of the Directeurs and Directrices, perhaps as in 1737, with addresses, and additional names, without addresses, dated 3 April 1741 and 5 May 1742. Five are noted as 'Ministres'. On the back of the same fly-leaf is an abstract of a memorandum concerning the will of David Bosanquet, 1732, leaving a conditional annuity to 'La Soupe'. Attached to this is a note concerning payments of this annuity by the French Church, Threadneedle Street. On f 1r is a summary of the Charity's investments and cash holding at 17 May 1737. On ff 5v and 6r are the statements of account concerning bread made for 'La Soupe' by the French Hospital's bakery, 1738-1739. On ff 8v, 9r, and 11r are calculations about the cost of bread and soup. Folio 32v has an inventory of furniture and utensils, total value estimated at £12, January 1750. |
