Description | In this volume the income and expenditure detailed in the day book are summarized in monthly figures and balanced; there are also statements of investments. From 1750, however, more details of both receipts and expenditures are shown, only slightly abbreviated from the day book. On ff 9 and 18 there are lists of numerous gifts and legacies to the Charity, 1750-1758 and 1759-1768, including a gift of £1000 from Jacques Perchard of Geneva and several legacies of £100 or £200. At the front there is an index (few entries), and on the inside front cover a note of the ingredients of a 'portion' of soup and bread. |
