Description | These, continuing from the accounts at the end of the Treasurer's day book (H/M/2/2), are the cash accounts from which those in H/M/2/7 were abstracted. The day of each payment is stated. Entries are often more informative than in H/M/2/7, e.g. 'payé à M Géry pour avoir acomodé la chaudière' (overhauled the boiler) appears in H/M/2/7 simply as 'acomodage' while 'payé à Susanne Bonnet, servante de la Maison de Charité, pour trois mois', is abbreviated to 'gages de la servante'. Many of the monthly accounts are signed as 'examiné' by a Director. Twenty-two folios are unused. At the end there are notes of agreeing monthly accounts, January 1731 to May 1739, with the Treasurer, and a few other memoranda; then three more blank folios, and similar memoranda, 1727 to 1731. On inside back cover, three notes (1737-1739) about tenancies of a shop and a cellar, parts of the Charity House. Pages are unnumbered. |
