Description | Manuscript priced catalogue, with printed catalogue (in Latin) interleaved, of auction sale of books, held on 28 March (1698) in premises (?opposite) the corner of the Royal Garden of Amalienborg in the square called (vulgo dicta) Dronningens Bredgade. Printed in Conpenhagen by Joh. Jacob Bornheinrich, 1698; title page with woodcut (vase of flowers).
The contemporary manuscript catalogue gives the name of every purchaser of the 166 folio, 313 quarto, 557 octavo and 195 duodecimo volumes. Many of the books were in French, and a 'Monsieur Meinard' bought a number of them. There is nothing to indicate the name of the catalogue's owner, or its history. |
