Date1802
Date210 April 1809
DescriptionVolume consisting of copies of letters written by Theodore Jouneaux, a journeyman weaver in London, to his son Jeremiah at Newport. As explained in the preface, the copies were made by Jeremiah on 10 April 1809 so as to be able to peruse his father's letters frequently. He hoped that the piety that transpired in the correspondence would help him strengthen his own faith. Theodore is described as an itinerant preacher. Pages 51-81 consist of Jeremiah's thoughts and questions on religious matters. The manuscript is paginated (pp. 1-81) and there are numerous coloured decorations throughout.
