Cover title: '24th Oct. 1689 to 4th April 1694.' Inside title: 'Registre des deliberations du comité francois chargé de la distribution des deniers destinez aux Protestans francois refugiez'. The volume opens as follows: 'La Compagnie composée des commissaires francois nommez par les Seigneurs que Le Roi a choisy pour la dispensation de la charité que Sa Mte a eu la bonté d'accorder en faveur des pauvres refugiez francois a nominé pour le Secretaire Le Sr De Marmande et M. De Monginot de la Salle pour le soulager'. In the margin are the following names: 'Mrs D'Heucourt-Allix-Primrose-Satur-De la Motte-Chev. Chardin-Monginot de la Salle-Plastrier-Bragiuer-Daval et De Marmande Secrere.' M Braguier was appointed Treasurer and M. Le Chevalier Chardin to assist him.
Then follows the 'reglemen' given the Compagnie on 3 September [1689?] prescribing persons not eligible, and rates payable to such as were eligible, in 9 articles. Article 9 is to the effect that the Lords Commissioners constitute and establish for the distribution of the monies the persons whose name follow, to whom they give power to meet as a Committee and to chose officers necessary for the distribution. The persons named are in fact the ones named in the marginal note above. The meetings and decisions recorded in this volume are those of 'Compagne' and 'Comite'. The last meeting, dated 4 April 1694, refers to tallies at £1700 at 3/4 of the 'coutume' and a number of others acquired.
Inserted in the volume are extract on 6 folios from the minutes of 19 September 1690 signed by the Secretary and delivered to the Treasurer. |
