The manuscript gives lists of refugees and grants classed under the following heads: ordinary (repeat grants), extraordinary (casual, special), orphans, apprenticeships, schools, the sick, and interments. Payments of the same 'Commissaires' are also listed in the report of the French Committee, printed in 1708, on the distribution of the £12000 grant which it received on 18 December 1706. In this report the payments are spread out between the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th 'etats', pp. 25-28 and 30-47.
There is a large measure of correspondence between the entries in the manuscript and those in the printed book. But they are not identical. For example, the details of 'ordinary' payments to individual people given in pp. 1-63 of the manuscript are not given in the printed book (pp. 30-37). Also the amount of the grant to any person as shown in the manuscript is not in every case the amount shown in the printed book.
