Description | The Minutes are brief, and generally confined to recording resolutions passed at General Meetings; but arrangements for the Anniversary Dinners and the names or number of members and visitors attending are also given. In 1834, the meeting place was moved to the Dolphin, Church Street, Bethnal Green. Interspersed with the Minutes are summary annual accounts. Following those for 1838-1839 there is a table showing income and expenditure 1827-1847 under various headings. Succeeding a minute for May 1842 is a statement of the amount of (Government) stock held for each year from 1793 to 1842. Following the accounts for 1842-1843 are particulars of new members proposed in 1843 and a list of persons wishing to join, 1823-1839, with ages. At the end of the book, reversed, are a list of benefactors, 1801-1830, and a list of members, 1789-1845, with addresses. |
