Description | A copy of Mary Chauvet's will, with (attached) a list of annuities and legacies left, and (loose) a copy of the list. The annuities are to relatives and friends, to the Society for promoting Protestant Schools in Ireland, and to the Westminster French Charity School. Legacies include £10 to the French Church in the Old Artillery Ground and £10 to the Society of Saintonge. The residuary estate was left in trust, to be divided equally (after the expiry of life annuities) between the said Church and the Society of Saintonge, 'for the use of their Poor'. |
AdminHistory | Mary Chauvet died on 5 June 1763, but the Society's share of the residuary estate was not received until 1819. A scheme for its future administration was made by the Charity Commissioners on 9 May 1941. |
