AdminHistory	In the preface to Charles E lart, 'Huguenot pedigrees' (London 1928), vol. II, the author thanked Ida Layard for 'her munificent gift of her very large and accurate collection of pedigrees, the work of her lifetime'. Both Ida and Florence had contributed articles for the Huguenot Society Proceedings.
Acquisition	Ida Layard's papers were donated to the French Hospital Library when he was on National service in 1940, no doubt in order to ensure that they remained in safe hands. They include some papers which had belonged to her sister Florence, who had predeceased her.
