| AdminHistory | The Islington Day Training College appears to have been founded by the London County Council (LCC) in 1906 to provide a 2-year training course for teachers. Board of Education Reports from the period describe it as a 'men-only' college, but the records include a number of women students. It was closed during World War One owing to the lack of male students and was never re-opened. By February 1915 it was estimated that by the beginning of the next session there would only be about 35 students. The LCC therefore looked to transfer students from this college to the London Day Training College |
