AdminHistory | In October 1972 the Academic Board set up a committee on diploma courses to advise the Academic Board on the academic aspects of diploma courses coming within the remit of the Council, including conditions of the admission of students, the content of courses of study and their examination and the condition for the award of a diploma; and to undertake on behalf of the Board matters concerning the constitution and appointment of tutorial boards for individual dilpma courses and the assessment of applications on behalf of candidates seeking exceptional admission to such courses. Membership comprised representatives from each of the 6 panels of the Standing Committee in Education, Advisory Committee on Technical and Further Education, Central Institute Committee on Advanced Courses and Studies, 'Advisory Committee on the Education of Handicapped Children [children with disabilities]', the constituent colleges offering diploma courses, and the Board of Educational Studies at the Faculty of Education (University of London). |
