AdminHistory | This Committee was established by the Academic Board in October 1972 and included representatives of the Standing Committee in Education, the Board of Educational Studies of the Faculty of Education, the Advisory Committee on Technical and Further Education, the Committee on Advanced Courses and Studies of the Central Institute, the 'Advisory Committee on the Education of Handicapped Children [children with disabilities]', and of each College offering a Diploma course and practising teachers. Its terms of reference were to advise the Academic Board on the Academic aspects of diploma courses coming within the purview of the Council, including conditions of the admission of students, the content of courses of study and their examination and the condition for the award of a Diploma. It also undertook on behalf of the Board matters concerning the constitution and appointment of tutorial boards for individual diploma courses and the assessment of applications on behalf of candidates seeking exceptional admission to such courses. |
