AdminHistory | The INSET Advisory Committee was created in 1987 to report to the Diploma/B.Ed/Short Courses Sub-board. It is possible that this committee was the successor of the DES Regional In-Service Committee. Its terms of reference were to advise the Institute on matters concerning the organisation and provision of in-service courses for teachers; to enable the Institute to keep LEAs informed of developments in the Institute's INSET provisions; and to provide a forum for discussion of policy concerning the identification of INSET needs and cost of provision. The Committee membership comprises representative of the INSET office; Diploma/B.Ed/Short courses sub-board; higher degrees sub-board; and representatives of LEAs. The Committee also discussed the outcome of the meetings of the INSET providers meetings. |
