Description	Papers regarding financial assistance or ‘studentships’ for training in the teaching of English as a foreign/second language. This was a programme offered by the British Council, with the aim of training teachers for work in other countries. A note on the original folder read ‘File cancelled April 1964. For 1964/65 onwards refer to EFL (PGCE)’. These papers consist of: - lists of students who were selected by the British Council for the studentships; - correspondence and memos regarding the studentships.
