Discussion of the changes to secondary education in the preceeding decade reviewed in light of eleven main features, including the contradiction between the rhetoric of increasingly local decision and the fact of increasingly centralised decision, concern over resource provision in the maintained sector, parental and general expectation/the needs of society, roll drop, accountability and review and multiethnic education, amongst others.
