Description | Report addressing the question of the place of religion in the education system, centred around three main questions: The report begins with a discussion of whether those schools controlled by Anglicans, Roman Catholics and Jews, but which are maintained by Local Education Authorities, should be joined by similar schools controlled by adherents of other faiths and, in particular, by Muslims. Secondly, the report tackles the education issues which should be addressed by parents and education professionals who attempt to base their lives on religious principles. Finally, the report addresses the question of the nature of religious education in schools controlled by Local Education Authorities. |
