Description | Various materials relating to the poem, 'Space Travellers', written by James Britton (under his full name James Nimmo Britton), which was originally published in the Oxford University Press anthology, 'Oxford Books of Verse for Juniors: Book 3'. Mostly includes copyright requests to reprint or use sections of the poem. There are also some materials relating to drafts of 'A Poetry Workbook: Introducing Modern Poetry', but no indication whether this was published, or if it was compiled by Britton.
Also includes correspondence, royalty statements, handwritten notes, sheet music for a musical accompaniment to the poem by David Stone, copies of various modern poems (Ted Hughes, Emily Dickinson etc.) some for a planned poetry book on modern poetry aimed at "fourth form students in a grammar school, or a general sixth form", and some poems written by schoolchildren.
Note: The separation of this material into five folders is done according to how Britton had organised it. |
