Katz visited Sydney (6-12 May and 12 June-29 July) to work with Peter O Bishop at the University of Sydney, Canberra (13 May-11 June) to work with Sir John Carew ('Jack') Eccles at the Australian National University, Melbourne (18-20 June) and Brisbane (9-10 July) to give the John Thomson Memorial Lecture at the University of Queensland. Prior to his trip he visited Israel and Karachi, and returned to London via the USA on July 30th. Correspondence re visits, travel, meetings, finance and periods of leave from UCL.
