| Description | Katz delivered a plenary lecture. It was only Katz's second return to his home town (the first being the previous year). Earlier in 1989 (8-11 April) he also visited Halle for the Annual Meeting of the Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina, and correspondence relating to this is also included.
