In a notice in Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1975 (see LILLY/F/276) Lilly as chairman explained that the IOBB was a non-profit organisation created in 1968 by Professors C.-G. Heden, I. Malek, G. UCL biochemical engineering was a member from the late 1960s and Lilly served the IOBB in a number of capacities including a period as chairman. He was elected to the honorary membership of the IOBB in 1996, one of the first two honorary members of the organisation. |
