AdminHistoryRomford County High School for Girls was founded in 1906 by Frances Bardsley, a young teacher who wanted local girls to have free education. Frances Bardsley was a graduate of Royal Holloway College, who had studied teaching at Cambridge Training College under its principal Elizabeth Hughes. Hughes later attended Prize Days at the school, as a guest.
CustodialHistoryIt seems like these were once the papers of Frances Bardsley, who founded the school. It is unclear why Louis Arnaud Reid had these papers, however he may have acquired and kept them due to the way they demonstrate how art, poetry, drama, and music can be used in education.
