AdminHistory | Cavan McCarthy edited the Tlaloc publication from 1964-1970. Although Tlaloc was initially published as a bi-weekly supplement to Ikon, by the second series of the magazine in 1965 (Tlaloc 7), it had become independent of Ikon and was published by Cavan McCarthy under the Location Press imprint. The main emphasis of Tlaloc was on concrete and visual poetry; contributors included dom sylvester houédard ('dsh'), Ian Hamilton Finlay and Angela Carter. The last issue (Tlaloc 22) was published in 1970, and contains an insert announcing the closing down of the publication due to McCarthy's intention to go abroad and pursue other interests. Other publications of Location Press included: Loc-Sheet Newsletter, Unicorn by Angela Carter, and Dongdeath and Jazzabeth by Eric Thacker. |
