Description | Letter from Jeremy Bentham to J Reeves, 21 March 1812. Requests Reeves's co-operation in helping JB to make amends with, and pay compensation to, 'Miss C.' (to whom Reeves is a 'friend and as it were her guardian'). Miss C. has been renting[?] 'the Pavillion' at JB's house at Queen's Square Place for the use of herself and her friends, and he and she have enjoyed amicable relations, but he has now unintentionally offended her, by saying that he may have to quit the house for financial reasons, and by mentioning local rumours that he was preparing the apartment for a mistress.
