AdminHistory | Frederic David Mocatta (1828-1905) was a British philanthropist, historian, bibliophile, and patron of learning who subsidized the publication of a number of major works of Jewish literature. The Mocatta Library was jointly founded by UCL and the Jewish Historical Society of England in 1906, after he left his vast library to the Society.
