Description	A small, anonymous pamphlet entitled 'Barriers to Family Life', published soon after the Beveridge Plan. It discusses concerns over the falling birth rates in Britain in the early 1940s, leading to an ageing population. The pamphlet outlines ‘barriers to family life’ which it claims are the cause of the falling birth rates. This pamphlet was published a few years before the start of the National Survey of Health and Development (NSHD), but it was in this climate of concern over falling birth rates that the NSHD was set up.
