Description | A blank questionnaire regarding premature births, following up from the 1946 maternity survey. The 1946 maternity study later went on to become the National Survey of Health and Development (NSHD), collecting data at regular intervals from a sample of the babies born in this week in 1946.
This background to the 1947 questionnaire is taken from the NSHD website: 'In 1947 a sub-sample comprising all 676 'premature' babies (of birth weight 5.5 lbs or less) and a set of controls were contacted. The controls were chosen from the same or nearby local health authority area and matched for sex, birth order, maternal age, social class, and other unspecified social circumstances. In total 1,352 of the whole sample were contacted.' |
