Title	MRC 1974 review: Papers on the future of the NSHD

Description	Papers discussing possible future directions of the National Survey of Health and Development (NSHD), ahead of the December 1974 visit of a subcommittee from the Medical Research Council (MRC). These discussions were happening as part the of MRC’s 1974 review of the NSHD. As the NSHD's core costs have been funded by the MRC since 1962, the MRC carries out these reviews of the study every 5 years. They are therefore also known as 'quinquennial reviews' or ‘QQRs’. At this time, the NSHD was housed within the MRC Unit for the Study of Environmental Factors in Mental and Physical Illness. File includes: correspondence; drafts of a paper entitled 'The Future of the National Study'; summaries of recommendations; notes about the requirements to meet suggested proposals; and notes from Unit meetings.
