Description	Papers regarding the Medical Research Council (MRC)’s 1985 review of the National Survey of Health and Development (NSHD). As the NSHD's core costs have been funded by the MRC since 1962, the MRC carries out these reviews of the study every 5 years. They are therefore also known as 'quinquennial reviews' or ‘QQRs’. The documents in this file were created after a visit from an MRC subcommittee which took place on 25 October 1985. These documents are largely concerned with the location of the NSHD, and the different options for a new location for the study. The documents in this file include: - the report of the visiting Neurosciences and Mental Health Board Subcommittee; - NSHD staff work plans; - documents outlining future work of the NSHD; - correspondence with the MRC, and with prospective new institutions to host the NSHD; - papers from a meeting of a Neurosciences Board Subcommittee meeting, 26 February 1986; - an extract from the minutes of the MRC Neurosciences Board meeting held on 16 April 1986.
