Description	Papers regarding the Medical Research Council (MRC)'s 1997 review of the National Survey of Health and Development (NSHD). As the NSHD's core costs have been funded by the MRC since 1962, the MRC carries out these reviews of the study every 5 years. They are therefore also known as 'quinquennial reviews' or ‘QQRs’. This file includes: - the report of a subcommittee, which visited the NSHD on behalf of the MRC Health Services and Public Health Research Board; - the Board's evaluation of the NSHD review, which included recommending the setting up of an MRC Steering Committee; - correspondence with the MRC; - the NSHD's written responses to the report, and to the Board's evaluation.
