Description | Agendas, minutes, and meeting papers from 3 meetings of the committee that oversaw and advised on the work of the MRC National Survey of Health and Development (NSHD) during this period. This committee was an extension of the Joint Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and the Population Investigation Committee that oversaw and advised on the 1946 maternity survey and initial follow-up surveys, but by this time the committee membership had changed due to the changing emphasis of the study. The committee is referred to in these papers as the 'Survey Committee' or the ‘Steering Committee’.
These papers are from the following meetings:
- The Eighth Meeting of the Survey Committee, 13 November 1970. - The Ninth Meeting of the Survey Committee, 12 July 1971. - The Tenth Meeting of the Survey Committee, 4 May 1973.
This file includes papers prepared for Survey Committee meetings with the following titles:
- 'Proposed timetable for Delinquency Studies'; - 'Note on the Second Generation Study'; - 'Areas to be Covered in the 1972 Survey'; - 'Questionnaires sent out in 1971'; - 'Fieldwork for the National Survey's 1971/72 Sweep'; - 'Note on the Study of Delinquency'; - 'Employment and Training: A Note for the National Survey Committee'; - 'Publications Since Last Meeting'; - 'Collection of data on Confinements of female Survey members'; - 'Studies of the Cycle of Deprivation in the National Survey'. |
