Description	Papers regarding the planning and administration of the 1989 data collection, or ‘sweep’, of the MRC National Survey of Health and Development (NSHD). This description of the 1989 data sweep is taken from the NSHD’s 75th birthday brochure: 'For the 1989 data collection the study recruited, trained and managed 60 nurses to collect the data which is in contrast to more recent data collections where an external nursing agency has been used. This data collection was the first time that verbal ability and some aspects of cognitive function (including memory) were measured.'
