In these papers his job title is given as "Talks Producer, Indian Section", at the BBC's Eastern Service. These papers are mostly typescript, with some handwritten letters. These papers include:
- discussions over Orwell's political position whilst working for the BBC; - discussions over whether he should use his pen name (Orwell) while reading the news in India; - an internal BBC memo giving guidance on how employees should cover the Congress Party; - notes from a BBC meeting on broadcasting in wartime; - a memo from the Ministry of Information. |
