Description<p>Letters from Helga Sharpe Hacker, née Pearson, youngest child of Karl Pearson and Maria Sharpe Pearson. Letters when Helga was very young have been written by her nurse, Susan "Tutu" Wheeler, or her Aunt Loetitia "Letty" Sharpe, and often signed by Helga. From 1906 the letters appear in Helga's hand.</p>

Letters dated 1928-1936 regarding her European travels; Pearson's work; Egon and Sigrid Pearson; her marriage to Henry Pollard Hacker; news of family and acquaintances; her medical work; the financial arrangements for Downe House; the death of Loetitia Sharpe [with enclosed typescript memorial] and administration of the estate; the construction of a house; and financial matters.</p>

<p>Accompanying the letters is a certified copy of Helga's birth register entry, and a newspaper clipping announcing her marriage.</p>
