DescriptionBlack and white cartoon showing London University and Kings College figures on a see-saw. Kings College represented by figures of the clergy, including the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Reverend George D'Oyly, with the added weight of Money and Interest. They are pitted against the founders of University College, including Brougham (waving a broom) and Bentham (clad in a dressing gown), who are hoisted in the air and supported by 'Sense and Science'. A typed annotation attached to the framed mount reads 'The rival King's College founded in 1828 produced much antagonism with UCL'.
