| Description | A book of minutes of the National Executive Committee of the Trades Advisory Council (TAC), covering meetings held between 1 May 1958 and 30 August 1978. This minute book has been created by sticking copies of typed pages of minutes into a blank volume. The meetings were held in London, and covered the following regular items:
- Updates from other TAC committees.
- Relations with other organisations, particularly the Board of Deputies.
- TAC finances.
- Statements on behalf of the TAC, in response to events.
- Internal elections of delegates and representatives.
- Trade involving Israel, including boycotts.
- Updates on cases in the UK that the General Secretary of the TAC was currently involved in. These cases usually involved instances of antisemitism, discrimination against Jewish workers, or behaviour by Jewish traders which the TAC felt was inappropriate.
At the front of this minute book, there are also the minutes from 7 meetings of the Labour Relations Advisory & Conciliation Committee, held in London between 19 April 1945 and 9 January 1947. These meetings mostly covered relations with trade unions, and included updates on some individuals cases. |
