- Professor Andrew Pollard (Director) (2002-2009) (full-time) led the overall research effort and engagement with users. He was responsible for the strategic direction of the Programme and for co-ordination of the Directors’ and Office Teams. He was a team member of the TLRP project on Home and School Knowledge Exchange and Transformation and held an ESRC Programme Director's Fellowship from during 2009-10. He is based at the Institute of Education, University of London.
- Professor Mary James (Deputy Director) (2002-2007) (part-time) was responsible for schools projects. She combined this with her work as Director of the TLRP project 'Learning How to Learn'. In 2007-08 she also held an ESRC Programme Director's Fellowship connected with her TLRP work.
- Professor Miriam David (Associate Director (2004-2009), (Director) (2009) (part-time) had particular responsibility for project and user liaison in relation to higher education, widening participation and lifelong learning and led TLRP’s thematic work on diversity and difference. She is a Professor of Sociology of Education at the Institute of Education, University of London
- Professor Alan Brown (Associate Director) (2002-2009) (part-time) supported work in the area of workplace and lifelong learning. See his Review of Vocational Education and Training Research in the UK (with Ewart Keep) (2000, European Commission). He also coordinated TLRP's European liaison activities. Alan was seconded part-time to TLRP from the Institute for Employment Research, University of Warwick.
- Professor Richard Noss (Director TLRP-TEL) (2007-2012). (part-time) His role included supporting the commissioning of TEL projects, monitoring TEL project activities and sustaining liaison between ESRC and EPSRC and with present and potential TEL funders. Professor Noss is also co-director of the London Knowledge Lab and is Professor of Mathematics Education at the Institute of Education, University of London.
- Stephen Baron (Associate Director for Capacity Building) (2004-2008) (part-time) was based at the Univeristy of Strathclyde. Steve also coordinated of Scotland's Applied Educational Research Sheme which gave considerable potential for synergy across AERS and TLRP.
- Professor John Siraj-Blatchford (Associate Director) (2002-2006) (part-time) had particular responsibility for coordinating the development of the Programme's ICT infrastructure and for work on ICT in teaching and learning across the Programme.
- Kathryn Ecclestone (Associate Director) (2002-2004) (part-time) was responsible for liaison with projects and user organisations in further education and in relation to lifelong learning. Made particular contributions on journalistic strategies for impact and to debate within the Programme.
Office Team (London 2005-2009)
- Sarah Douglas (Office, Outputs and Communication Manager) (2005-2009) Coordinated the office team and was responsible for the overall management of TLRP’s administration and communication infrastructure.
- James O'Toole (Events, Media and Engagement Manager) (2005-2012) was responsible for the organisation of major TLRP events and led on the maintenance and application of the Programme's database, website and other IT systems to maximise user engagement. He is now administrative manager of the TLRP-Technology Enhanced Learning phase, based at the London Knowledge Lab
- Bernie Ryder (Presentations and Media Manager) (2005-2006) (part-time) drew on her professional experience and qualifications in promotion and marketing to support the programme's impact and dissemination work. She was also responsible for bibliographic checking of Dspace depositions.
- Richard Procter (IT manager) (2005-2008) (part-time) was TLRP's webmaster and developed TLRP online resources such as D-Space, Virtual Research Environments and the
TLRP database.
- Joanna Penty (Dspace Researcher) (2006-2009) (part-time) liaised with project teams to organise DSpace training and was responsible for checking Dspace entries for bibliographic continuity and correct classification.
- Mabel Encinas, (DSpace and International Researcher) (2007-2009) (part-time) checked entries for bibliographic continuity and correct classification on the DSpace online repository. As International liaison researcher, she also kept contact with diverse international organisations, supporting the infrastructure for their communication through the virtual learning environment.
- Jehan Saleh (Programme Assistant) (2007-2008) (part-time) was responsible for developing the programme’s international outreach. She also maintained TLRP’s Virtual Research Environment, assisted in DSpace maintenance and was the main point of contact for expense claims and international funding applications.
- Silvina Cimolai (DSpace Researcher) (2007-2008) (part-time) was responsible for checking and classifying D-Space entries.
- Hameed Hakimi (Programme Assistant) (2008-2009) (part-time) was responsible for Programme admin, archiving, and supporting the Directors' team.
Office Team Cambridge (2002-2004)
- Dr Lynne Blanchfield (Research Associate and Programme Office Manager) (2002-2004) had overall responsibility for the TLRP office in Cambridge, its database, and the varied activities it carried out in support of the programme teams, projects, events and publicity.
- Suzanne Fletcher (2002-2004) (Programme Secretary) maintained office systems and fulfilled many core administrative roles on behalf of the Programme, including the organisation of major programme events.
- Fiona Baulard-Cato (Programme Office Assistant) (part-time) (2002-2004) maintained the TLRP database and undertook the routine organisation for TLRP events and conferences.
Directors' Team, Exeter (1999-2002)
- Professor Charles Desforges (1999-2002) (Director) The first TLRP Director led initial rounds of project commissioning and instigated a number of important thematic debates on methodological and theoretical issues.
- John Kanefsky (1999-2002) (Associate Director) was responsible for drafting TLRP’s Communication and Impact Strategy and for establishing strong foundations in user engagement.
- Tess Exley (1999-2002) (Office Manager) Provided full administrative support and event management for the Directors'.
