AdminHistory'The second TLRP Annual Conference was held at the Park Hotel, Birmingham, from 14th to 15th November 2001.The Conference was opened with a welcome by Professor Charles Deforges; the event was dedicated to developing a ‘thinking strategy’ to deal with the core challenges facing the Programme. The Second Annual Conference was comparatively smaller, attended by those engaged witht the Programme but there were also participants from TLRP partners.Time at the Conference was given to discussion workshops led by Professor Robin Millar; Professor Jean Ruddock; Professor Mel Ainscow; Professor Alan Dyson; Dr Andy Howes; Professor Stephen Gorard; Professor Karen Evans; Professor Phil Hodkinson; Professor Lorna Unwin and Elizabeth VanderPutten.
Participants were divided into one of the following six workshops:
1) Challenges and Issues in Developing and Sustaining Research Partnerships with Practitioners
2) The Transformative Potential of Pupil Consultation
3) Working with Practitioners to Develop Inclusive Practice
4) Identifying the Determinants of Improvement
5) Tacit Skills and Workplace Learning
6) Emerging Findings from the Research on Learning and Education (ROLE) Program, USA
The two day conference was brought to a conclusion by Sir David Watson, University of Brighton'.
