AdminHistory | 'TLRP were invited to the Symposium covering the theme, Responding to Challenges for Educational Research. An overview and aims of the Programme were given and projects were highlighted to illustrate the main aims. Professor Mary James chaired the workshop and invited speakers such as Professor Terezinha Nunes, from Oxford Brookes University, Professor Peter Bryant, University of Oxford, Mark Newman, University of Middlesex, Professor Paul Black, King’s College, London, Dr Colin Connor, University of Cambridge, Professor Robert McCormick, Open University, Dr Dave Peddar, University of Cambridge and Professor Ros Sutherland from the University of Bristol. Each spoke of their involvement in the Programme and covered topics such as Enhancing learning outcomes in literacy and numeracy for 8 to 11 year olds in schools; enhancing outcomes through practice-based learning in nurse education; deepening capacity through innovative research design – researching learning how to learn in classrooms, schools and networks and synergy, transformation and impact – creating and disseminating new knowledge in InterActive education'.
