DescriptionComprises papers regarding the working of a UCET/ Association of Teachers in Colleges and Departments of Education (ATCDE) joint working party on 'the nature and effectiveness of curriculum courses' (being those sourses that contribute directly to teaching performances in the classroom). The working party was set up in 1969 by the Joint UCET/ATCDE Research Committee to consider how to promote education research into the content of the curriculum courses of individual colleges of education. The proposed research projects would be funded by the Department of Education and Science (DES) and Local Educational Authorities (LEAs). The file includes:
Minutes of meetings, progress reports and drafts of the research proposal of the joint working party
Report on current curriculum courses 1968/1969 for consideration by the joint working party
Position paper by the Department of Education and Science (DES) on the curriculum of Colleges of Education, a response to proposals for a required increase in the amount of educational research into the area, particularly considering the courses provided by individual institutions
Papers regarding proposals made to the DES and the SSRC for research projects into currciulum content of colleges of education at various Institutes, Colleges or Schools of Education at: Leeds, Lancaster, Bristol, Keele, Leicester, Nottingham, West Midlands College of Education as well as University College London
