Description | Correspondence between Ethel Froud (NUWT General Secretary) and Miss G. M. Chaplin regarding her work as an NUWT Organiser. An Organiser was employed by the NUWT to visit branches in a given area and advice and encourage them on matters including membership drives, equal pay campaigns, and the organisation of meetings. The correspondence covers: Letter sent to a local paper by Miss Chaplin requesting that Cardiff Education Committee reaffirm their adherence to the principle of equality in job appointments Cover letters sent in with Organiser's reports, giving extra explanation of the report where needed Arrangements for payments for meetings and discussion of what will be paid by local groups and what by Central Council Circular letters sent out by Miss Chaplin and Olive Bartels to women teachers inviting them to a meeting introducing the work of the NUWT Various circulars sent out by Miss Chaplin with information on meetings which will be of interest to woman teachers Note of concern over the health of a member of the Gosport branch Update of family news of members of branches in the area she is the Organiser for News that she will be starting to write a weekly column for the 'News Chronicle' on 'the activities of organised women' which she hopes will afford plenty of propaganda opportunities |
