Description | Correspondence between Ethel Froud (NUWT General Secretary), the proposed speakers, Derry and Toms restaurant (venue of luncheon), and NUWT members regarding an Educational Conference organised by the NUWT at the Imperial Institute, London on 18 May 1935. The speakers were Professor Olive Wheeler on 'Education for Peace', Dr. G. P. Gooch on 'Obstacles to peace'. The afternoon was the official opening of new NUWT Headquarters at 41 Cromwell Road, followed by an Equal Pay luncheon at which Mavis Tate (MP) and Miss V. M. Appleby (National Association of Women Civil Servants) were the speakers.
