DescriptionCorrespondence between Ethel Froud (NUWT), NUWT members including Sybil Burls, G Chaplin and L. Turton, Members of Parliament including Mavis Tate, Eleanor Rathbone and Frederick Pethick-Lawrence, and various trade unions and women's organisations including the Union of Post-Office Workers and the Women's Cooperative Guild regarding an Equal Pay Campaign organised by the NUWT to coincide with the National Union of Teachers (NUT) conference at Portsmouth.

NUWT circulars giving notice of, and reasoning behind, the Portsmouth Equal Pay Campaign
MInutes of meetings of NUWT General Purposes and Organisation Committee regarding the campaign
Printed 'to do' list for the campaign, including the aims and objectives
Arrangements for letting other Central Council and NUWT members know about the plans for the campaign (this was the first time they had undertaken such a campaign and tried to keep it confidential until they had finalised all the arrangements)
Statistics on numbers of men who have dependents
List of Members of Parliament who voted for the Equal Pay Amendment in 1936
Timetable for the campaign
NUWT circular letters detailing the arguments for equal pay and inviting people interested in finding out more to visit the Committee Rooms they have set up for the duration of the NUT conference
Letters from NUWT members confirming whether they can attend Portsmouth and help with the campaign (many of these include details of why they can not come, mostly illnesses, and includes interesting asides on personal history in the women's movement and other interesting life story information)
Problems they were having with the police regarding permission for post parades, bill boarding and other campaign activities
